Examination Board: AQA Assessment: 100% examination
All texts used in both Language exams are from the 19th, 20th or 21st century.
Paper 1 – Written examination 1 hour and 45 minutes 50%
- Language paper 1 focuses on a fiction text. Students are required to answer four questions that focus on the language and structure of the text and then will complete either a descriptive or narrative piece of creative writing using a stimulus provided.
Paper 2 – Written examination 1 hour and 45 minutes 50%
- Language paper 2 focuses on two non-fiction texts. Students are required to answer four questions that focus on aspects of the two texts and then will complete a piece of writing designed to showcase a viewpoint.
Paper 3 – Non-exam assessment – speaking and listening. Class based assessment
- The non-examined assessment requires students to give a formal speech or presentation. As part of this presentation or speech, they are required to respond to questions regarding their chosen content.
